Election Update – November 27, 2025
As of 5:00pm today, the EGACC Election Committee has received only 7 nominations for the vacating board positions. The candidate names are listed alphabetically below by first name:
- Akbar Ali
- Dawud Alekozay
- Fawad Osmani
- Kaleem Ezatullah
- Mohammad Amiri
- Mohammad Kamil Sherzai
- Samihullah Tokhi
Per Article XIII Section 5(e) of the EGACC Bylaws:
“If the number of nominees is less than or equal to the required announced positions, the due date of nominations shall be extended to the 27th of November and the date of the election shall be extended to the 2nd Saturday of December. If still the number of candidates is less than or equal to the required positions, they shall be accepted as elected members and no election shall be held.”
As such, since the number of nominations was equal to the number of required positions, all nominees shall be accepted as elected members and no election will be held.
Commencement of the 2026 – 2028 EGACC Board of Directors
- The term of the newly elected Officers will start on January 1, 2026.
- The period from the announcement of the election results to the 1st of January of the New Year will serve as a transition period between the departing officers and the incoming officers.
- The outgoing officers will transfer any documents, records and knowledge to the new incoming officers prior to January 1st.
